London, 17 December 2021: Soho Square Capital (“Soho Square”), an investment firm focused on serving the financing needs of established and growing UK and European SMEs, is pleased to announce its first exit from Soho Square Capital III (“Fund III”) today with the sale of Oslo Tankers AS (“Oslo Tankers”)
Soho Square originally invested approximately £12 million in the company in August 2019. Having held the investment for a period of two years, the sale to Premium Maritime represents an opportunistic early exit which has generated a strong return to Soho Square’s investors.
Soho Square Capital Investment Principal, Stuart Hamilton, commented:
“We are delighted to secure the first exit from Fund III. With the resumption of post-lockdown global trade leading to an uptick in economic sentiment, we identified the opportunity to secure an early exit from the investment and return capital to investors far sooner than anticipated. We wish the new owners of Oslo Tankers every success in the next phase of the company’s growth.”
“Following the recent close of Fund III, Soho Square will continue offering our bespoke financing solutions which focus on minimizing the equity dilution associated with typical private equity transactions whilst providing more flexibility than traditional credit financing.”
The experienced Soho Square team manages >£250 million AUM and works closely with ambitions leaders to provide hands on support and guidance for the course of the investment, alongside a bespoke financing solution. The current portfolio includes Alpine Fire Engineers, Arcus FM, Avonside, Brasserie Barco, Churchill Group, Netomnia and Technical Fire Safety Group.
